Youth MHFA Refresher – Online

Service Description

The Youth Mental Health First Aid Refresher is an online refresher course for current Youth MHFAiders who have previously completed the Youth Mental Health First Aid course. Available Australia-wide — complete your Youth MHFA refresher online from anywhere in Australia. This course provides an opportunity to refresh and strengthen your Youth Mental Health First Aid knowledge, skills and confidence when supporting young people aged 12–18. Participants will: Gain an understanding of current research and developments in the mental health field. Refresh the key actions for supporting someone experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. Review the three key actions for helping someone experiencing suicidal thoughts or behaviours. Work through complex mental health first aid interactions. Practise and strengthen mental health first aid skills. Course format: Online refresher training. Eligibility: For current and eligible Youth MHFAiders who have previously completed the Youth Mental Health First Aid course. Successful completion can extend Youth MHFAider accreditation for a further 3 years, subject to the applicable Mental Health First Aid Australia requirements. Learner Access Pass: $20 + GST.
